The Writers’ Guild of Acadiana will
host a one-day seminar titled “Scare ’Em and Sell ’Em: How to Write a
Paranormal Novel” with author Deborah LeBlanc, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept.
10, in the annex building attached to the Rice Theater in Crowley. The cost is $45

is once again offering a workshop for writers in New Orleans, in which there
will be panel discussions, a dinner theater, editor appointments and more. The
Heather Graham’s Sixth Annual Writers for New Orleans Workshop will be Sept.

Heartla luncheon
New
York Times bestselling author and New Orleans native Sabrina Jeffries, with
more than 5 million books in print, will be the guest speaker at the Heart of
Louisiana's Annual Romance Readers Luncheon Saturday, Nov. 5, in Baton Rouge. The
event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Juban’s Restaurant, 3739 Perkin Road,
and will feature book signings in addition to Jeffries’ talk and lunch. Tickets
to the “Fall in Love With Romance” luncheon are $40 and available through the Heartla Web site.

Festival on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Cite des Arts, 109 Vine
St. in downtown Lafayette. The free festival sponsored by
the Writers' Guild of Acadiana brought in Poet Laureate Darrell Bourque
along with poet Ava
